Church Attendance

God is worthy of our worship. It's in the Bible, Psalm 100:4-5, NKJV. "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.

We attend church to meet with God. It's in the Bible, Habakkuk 2:20, NIV. "But the Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before Him."

Love for God is related to seeking Him at His house for worship. It's in the Bible, Psalm 27:4, NIV. "One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple."

Through going to church to connect with and support other believers, God can bring more people in. It's in the Bible, Acts 2:46-47, NKJV. "So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved."

God commanded convocations, or sacred assemblies, for Sabbaths. It's in the Bible, Leviticus 23:3, NKJV. "Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work on it; it is the Sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings."

Going to church is especially important in the last days. It's in the Bible, Hebrews 10:25, TLB. "Let us not neglect our church meetings, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near."

God promises His presence even in small groups of believers. It's in the Bible, Matthew 18:20, NKJV. "For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

Be glad you can worship freely. It's in the Bible, Psalm 122:1, NIV. "I rejoiced with those who said to me, 'Let us go to the house of the Lord.' "

Go to church to listen and to learn. It's in the Bible, Ecclesiastes 5:1, NIV. "Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Go near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools, who do not know that they do wrong."

A day with God is still better than having everything else without Him. It's in the Bible, Psalm 84:10, "Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked."

The Holy Spirit leads to unity of the body of Christ, which is the church. It's in the Bible, Ephesians 4:3-5, "endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism;"

Christ is the cornerstone of the church, made of each of us to create a grand temple for God. It's in the Bible, Ephesians 2:19-22, "Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and the members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit."

Jesus set the example for us with His church attendance. It's in the Bible, Luke 4:16, NIV. "He went to Nazareth, where He had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day, He went into the synagogue, as was His custom. And He stood up to read."

When we are in heaven until eternity, we will be worshipping God together. It's in the Bible, Isaiah 66:22-23, NKJV. "'As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will endure before,' declares the Lord, 'so will your name and descendants endure. From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, all mankind will come and bow down before me,' says the Lord."
